avg isn’t that good. go with nod32 or PcCillin I don’t recommend avg as I had it when first got into pc’s and got hit with a bad porn virus right here on yahoo Q&A it did nothing to protect me nor remove it. I had one heck of a time fixing my pc.and I also use spyware doctor along with my pccillin and never get hit any longer. good luck.

I am planning to get ESET Smart Security 4 with Antivirus and Spyware Protection but I am also wondering if I can get Ad-Aware/Spybot/Malwarebytes.

I would get an anti-virus program, but get separate ad/spyware programs like Malwarebytes, spybot etc.
In my experience, the ‘all in one’ programs never do as good a job as the program dedicated to a particular kind of malware.

Hi. Just plug it back in. If worse comes to worst, press the reset button while it is not powered. You will need to re-establish your settings.

Try some of the free AntiVirus programs like AVG or osmetihng, but i dont trust my ocmputer with free cheap stuff So i woulkd recommend going to bestbuy or osmetihng and buying NortonAntiVirus from there.
And for the Spyware and Adware, i sugggest using Microsfot AntiSpyware OR Microsoft Defender.

Never heard of them.. i run Avira free, malware bytes and super anti spyware. and spybot for the immunization feature. never had any problems they couldn’t fix

If you want, you can try the “Ultimate Boot CD for Windows,” which allows you to scan your computer from a “clean” environment (in other words, the virus isn’t running while you scan your computer). I’ve been a network administrator for over 12 years now. Here’s what I do about virus and spyware infections: I backup all the documents, pictures, music, etc., and then I put in the Windows CD and have it format the hard drive and start over. That’s the only way to be 100% sure that all of the infections are removed. For backing up the data files, I prefer an online file host (such as http://www.drivehq.com ) instead of a USB drive because recent viruses (like Conflicker) can infect your USB drive.
What should you back up? Almost always these days, if you just back up your “My Documents” folder (and the My Documents folders for other users on the computer), you’ll have saved everything. Microsoft and third party software manufacturers are becoming very good at making sure all of your stuff goes into that folder, or a subfolder (such as My Pictures).
For the future, I recommend that you use Mozy Home Free Edition to keep your documents backed up online. Then you won’t have to hesitate if you want to ever reformat your computer again. Here is a YouTube video that I made about how to use Mozy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmhAoPCmOdY
I also recommend installing Site Advisor at http://www.siteadvisor.com. It will pop up a red balloon any time you go to a web site that has malicious downloads. It will also put red, yellow, and green icons next to your Google and Yahoo search results.
