Audio Not Working On Ubuntu?
my sound was working just fine until i installed the Gstreamer codecs and vlc media player. now it gives me this message everytime i try to change the sound level. there is no sound at all. i uninstalled the codecs and vlc media player and it still wont work.
The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don’t have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don’t have a sound card configured.
You can remove the volume control from the panel by right-clicking the speaker icon on the panel and selecting “Remove From Panel” from the menu.

I have a supreme fx 2 soundcard on my asus rampage motherboard and I can’t find the drivers anywhere. I recently removed Vista and installed XP 64 bit and I tried looking on the Asus website and can’t find anything. Are there any programs that could scan my computer and determine the correct drivers?
How Do I Get My Sound Card To Record Audio?
I’m running Windows Vista on a Dell System with a Sygmatech audio card. My computer did have the ability to record audio with the programs CD Wav Editor and Cool Edit Pro. Now it tells me that my audio card is not capable of doing this. I’m not sure if I’ve installed something or made changes to my computer that caused this to happen. Can someone point me in the right direction of what might be wrong? Thank you in advance.
