My Defragmentation Process Was Interrupted And Can Not End It?

It really isn’t good when that process gets interrupted. However I suppose you really need to end it, have you tried to end it by using the task manager? Press ctrl+shift+esc and look at the applications tab and right click the problem app and click end. If that doesn’t work even after a few tries and you waiting around the only option I could suggest is to hard boot your machine. Look for the power button on your computer case and hold it down for a few seconds, and that will turn it off (some systems require you to let go after a while for it to boot, it differs from machine to machine). After everything has stopped spinning in your machine press the button again to boot it back up.

Why Does My Laptop Have Trouble With Disk Defragmentation Process?

The computer is new, runs Vista, is problem free and everything works just fine. I do disk cleanups and scans without any trouble at all. But the two times I started a defrag the process took most of the day. I stopped it each time.
Is there something I’m not doing correctly? Why does a new lappy have this problem that my tired, old, problematic desky doesn’t?
Each one runs the same security programs and despite the fact that the desky runs XP, there really isn’t much of a difference.
I’m confused. Your help is needed. Thank you.
