You have been infected with a rogue that will not just go away -
1/ Turn off System restore
2/ Restart in safe mode with networking
3/ Download Malwarebytes and Spybot (Type them into your Google search engine and it will give you the results)
4/ Update both programs prior to using them
5/ Run full scans and delete any infections you find
6/ When completed restart in normal mode and you should be OK
Some people prefer SUPERantispyware to Spybot but I use what works for me – Also install AVG as a “running” anti virus and update it every week

How do I retrieve a quarantined document from antivirus software?

Question by Siobhan D: How do I retrieve a quarantined document from antivirus software?
I realize it has a virus, but the most important information for the company is in that document and I need to open it somehow. Its not deleted, only quarantined in Norton AntiVirus. How can I get it out to copy the information? No negative comments, just real genuine help please!
I have a MAC.

If it can not fix the problem it gets put in the vault. Accessing it will re-activate the virus and could totally trash your system. You could try restoring it, then download malwarebytes from http://malwarebytes.org. Scan the machine. It may fix it, but if it is badly infected it will delete it. Norton is not much good at repairing files. And if the file is badly infected it may already have lost all your data.

But I don’t want the ones that require free trial.
OK OK, let me be specific. I want the ones that are FREE and don’t have free trial. [I don't want the ones that make you pay.]

MalwareBytes, you have to pay for the licensed version to get real time scanning but the free malware and definitions database updates are the best around.

How to make sure that the antivirus live virus is truly gone?

Question by ps1991cs@yahoo.com: How to make sure that the antivirus live virus is truly gone?
I recently had the antivirus live virus. It wouldn’t allow me to run any executable, task manager, anything. Finally I got task manager to open right as my computer turned on(before the virus had loaded). I deleted the *****sysguard files from the task manager and everything appears to be normal. I am now able to run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. Is there anything else I should do to ensure that my system is clean or am I good.

you can use a program called Revo Uninstaller. It’s a free download that removes programs and all files associated with them. It’ll clear everything out.

Can You Run Malwarebytes With Another Anti Virus Or Anti Spyware Program Already On Your Computer?

I’m thinking about ditching Windows Defender because I know it sucks, and it came with Norton Internet Security 2008, and I know I have talked bad about Norton, but they have improved greatly from the past, and it doesn’t slow my laptop.
I’ve read and heard so many great reviews about it, so if I have Norton, Super anti spyware, can I run malwarebytes along with them?
