I don’t know if you know but it is actually a Virus it self.

Download these from Download.com

AVG Free
Spy Bot Search and Destroy
and
Ad-Aware

Install all of them then boot into safe mode (Tapping F8 on boot up)
And have them all run full scans and delete all infections.

I have Windows Vista and I didn’t get an antivirus as of yet. Is it safe for me to download IE 8 anyways, just as I would download (for example) a security update or something like that? It popped up finally in the Windows Update on my computer and I would really like to know. Thank you for your help!

Hi,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

It sounds like you have either software conflict or an incomplete installation of Norton. Make sure that you do not have any other rel-time security applications instilled, s they can cause conflicts with Norton.

Follow the instructions below to properly remove and then reinstall Norton AntiVirus.

1. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039?Open&docid=2001074957656166&nsf=sunset-c2002kb.nsf&view=0

2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well.

3. Click on the link below and then choose the “Download” button under Norton AntiVirus to download the latest installer.

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20090501124807EN&selected_nav=1&pvid=

4. After the instillation is complete, launch Norton AntiVirus nd complete Full System Scan to check for infections.

Thanks,
Mike
