Question by Compgame16: Computer/graphics card acting laggy EVEN after pc cleaning?
Hello. I haven’t been on my PC in a while and I noticed my PC was laggy. so I defragmented my hard drives and cleaned everything possible using iolo/system mechanic. The computer was a tad faster. but the main thing is the games. I played lost planet months ago and it went brilliant, but now I play it and its a huge slow down. what happened? I’ve also updated my drivers to. but its not just that game its every game. what do I need to do to fix this? ( and the graphics to…the textures look a little pixelated like. its like its in low resolution all the time like graphic errors)
oh yeah my specs:

Nvidia Geforce 8400gs
2.80ghz (2 on one processor)
1GB

I think I found the problem. You have diddly for RAM and your video card is low-end garbage.

  1. Casanova says:

I agree you need to upgrade to a better graphics card more likely to the 9800′s and get like 3gb because with one gb you cant play well especially if the ram its shared

i don’t know about PCs playing up after being idle for some time. i have heard of it before. The easiest solution is to add another gb of ram if you can afford to.
Perhaps something else is happening, like wiring in mobo gets aged more when not in use.
