I have a normal home PC that 2 children have access to. We have been getting lots of malicious web sites popping up and currently only have free software (Avira Antivir and SUPER Anti spyware) and the windows firewall. I have heard that AVG is good.

Yes, AVG is really good but in my opinion Avast Home Edition is the best freeware try to install that it may be the solution.
    Good Luck!

Yes AVG is VERY good it found a worm and a Trojan Horse on my computer. Someone has suggested Windows Defender, from my personal experience I would be very careful with this one, as it caused all sorts of problems with my computer and I had to get a boffin to “heal” my computer – so just be wary.

    AVG is pretty good.
My personal preferecne is Norton Antivirus.
But for the best protection you will need to use several programs to fully protect your computer.
    Norton Antivirus
    Lavasofts Adaware
    Spybot S&D
    PestPatrol
With this combination of programs you should have a pretty good “shield” on your computer against virus, spyware, trojans, etc..

I use avira and zone alarm. both free downloads and very effective.

AVG or Avast! are both good. Zone alarm is a decent firewall. Spybot Search and Destroy … along with Adaware are good anti spy solutions. Norton is a resource hog, along with Mcafee. I wouldn’t use them. AVG or Avast! does just as good and they are free. As a matter of fact all the programs I mentioned are free.

    Norton.

Norton Internet Security is good but expensive
You can download AVG for free

Well Kaspersky is the absolute best, but you’ve got to pay for that, so idk if your talking about free anti-virus’s or any of them.

Trend Micro’s Internet Security Pro is by far the best I have ever used. Yes, it does cost, but at $50 for a year of the best protection it’s unbeatable. They do give you a trial version that is fully operational and easily configurable.
