Midi Doesn’t Sound Right In Sony Laptop?

I just bought a new laptop Sony VGN-SZ55GN but can’t play all my midi correctly.
SZ55GN Spec:
Windows Vista and SigmaTeL High Definition Audio CODEC
The strange things is when I played midi with Winamp Player the midi will played only the “bass” part like drum and percussion
If I played midi with Windows Media Player the midi will played only the “non bass” part other than drum and percussion
(as you guess, I can play the midi perfectly if I opened 2 of them together, but it troublesome ^^;)
I have tried another software as well, software to convert midi to sheet music like MidiNotate and Midiillustrator which usually plays all perfectly but now I only can hear the “bass” part.
I have tried to use earphone and it’s useless, same as above.
Am I having:
a. Plugins problem?
b. Driver problem?
c. Compatibility problem? (with Vista?)
d. Damaged SoundCard? (but mp3 works perfectly)
e. Software problem?
f. Broken Midi?
g. Hearing Impairment problem? definitely no!

May be a combination of things. Vista, drivers outdated, plugins old, or just as simple as your sound card is non compatible.
