What Is The Best Antivirus For A Netbook That Has Windows Xp Home?
I need to know what is the best antivirus no matter how much it costs. It would also be very helpful if you compare the antivirus with other antivirus.

Winavm antivirs is the best antivirus for a notebook .
i’m using avast home edition . The new version has been released on their website. It s a freeware. You can register yourself on the avast website to recive the registration key . They provide timely updates (small in size, ie. In kb’s. Which s usefull for people with limited internet plans ). It s fully legal n it generates a virus recovery database to report avast about the new viruses .
To detect n delete malwares on your comp use malware bytes . Another free software . N a powerfull tool to clean your comp of malwares. I use these softwares myself .http://bestfree-spyware-virus-trojan-pro…
BitDefender is very good. Each antivirus developer says that their antivirus is the best, so you should decide who is the best by yourself.
You can search for coupon codes for antivirus you want to buy. For example, you can find discount for BitDefender 2010 here:http://www.hotsoftsale.com/bitdefender-a…
The best anti-virus is Kaspersky or Norton but they are not free. Kaspersky does offer a free online scan but it doesn’t remove what it finds. Second best free are Avast and AVG and others. The Microsoft firewall that comes free with XP and Vista is quite good but unfortunately provides no visibility. If you need visibility, try the free Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm is very good but it is difficult for me to say it is the best. The best firewalls are not free. You have phishing filters in Firefox 3 and IE 7 and IE 8 (Smart Screen Filter) and AVG. It’s strictly a question of how often the phishing filter database gets updated with accurate information. It’s tough to say which is best.
Norton Internet Security 2010 Netbook Edition Upgrade – Symantec …http://shop.symantecstore.com/DRHM/servl…
That is actually the website URL – or simply type into a search engine “Norton optimized for netbook”.
You are probably next going to go into what are the limitations of Netbooks and why. Simple…. DON’T try and use them like desktops and DON”T install heavy software programs such as Audacity full needing at least 2 Gigs RAM to run.
Netbooks are NOT laptops. They are NOT Notebooks. They are NOT Desktops. They are designed for light browsing and light communications and light software installations in system requirements and amonut you install. DO NOT install all kinds of software. You have been warned !
I have two of them. They work fine for light trafficking ONLY as they are advertised.
GOOD TIP:….. yes it is healthy to be very scared to start installing all kinds of softwares. Don’t Do It ! Now Symantec Norton Antivirus has notoriously historically been crank yanked for being a “road hog” on system resorces. SO, if Norton runs (had the free 30 day trials of it on mine) on the Netbook the idea is you don’t have to be that scared to try softwares with a Netbook. Be very very very careful and check System Requirements as far as PROCESSORS !!!! The processor in Netbooks just do not have the beef to run software programs like a desktop or laptop or even a Notebook. Stay AWAY from continual multi-tasking !!!! Stay easy and light on your Netbook and it will serve you a long time.
For podcasts and so on I recommend you get Firefox and add the plug ins. In comparison, if you were to attempt to install like RSSReader for your RSS feeds – it is a full blown independent browers that downloads RSS feeds and uses the .NetFrameworks in Windows. THESE types are what I mean as good example. DON”T try to install large softwares or it will destroy the Netbook. You have been warned.
If you are not on broadband or wi-fi I suggest you get a side drive with CD Drawer to install softwares with the Netbook (plug and play detachable) rather than endlessly downloading on a dial up connection.
food for thought while we were here from experience !
happy hunting !
PS…. My point was to picture Norton (if you have had experience) picture Norton Antivirus as the biggest thing you want to install. Again ALWAYS check “System Requirements” fopr softwares like if they need even dual core processors to run something, Pentium, Intel etc. You probably have the Atom Processor. Their great and limited. Don’t blow it up !!!
RECOMMENDATIONS…
I have used Norton, Webroot Spysweeper with Sophos Antivirus, and the Emsi A-Squared Antimalware programs. These ARE the top protection products on the market and ALL run just fine on Netbooks. Take your pick and happy hunting ! (Emsi has 30 day free trial – recommended strongly – lightest of the three tops. Emsi of course has the A-Squared antispyware with Ikarus Antivrus with currently about 3.3 million removal defintions !!!! One of the three best)
Bit Defender. Cheap and good.
And a little secret for you. Though they say it can only be installed on 1 com. Trust me, it can be done on 3 or more coms.
Best answer?
Eset Smart Security or NOD 32
I also use Eset NOD32 and never had a problem
