Are Current Professional Baseball Players Motivated To Play The Game?
Too often players are seen watching long fly balls instead of running hard. They often end up with only a single when the ball doesn’t go over the fence. Why don’t these millionaire players give there best? If they want to watch, they should sit in the stands. Why isn’t there a manager that has the spine to fine or bench players that don’t hustle?

Wel I think it all depends on the player. A lot of the bigger players don’t hustle every play (Manny Ramirez does this, Sammy Sosa did this). There are however players that do hustle out every play. Most of them are younger players still trying to make a name for themselves in the big leagues. As a Cubs fan I do see hustle out of guys like Ryan Theriot, Mike Fontenot and Kosuke Fukudome no matter where they hit the ball.
Yeah some of the players don’t seem to be AS motivated as others.. but that just makes me have more respect for the gritty players (who may not be superstars btw) who always give 110%.
now i’m not going to judge players who don’t hustle…i mean just because they don’t look like they do doesn’t mean they don’t..
Jeter i see the guy gives it all the time
and i remember one time were Rollins hit a op up and did not run it out hard and the ball fell and only got a single, but Jerry Manuel bench him the rest of the game
If getting paid millions and millions of dollars per year to wear pajamas and play a children’s game for a living isn’t motivation enough, then I don’t know what is.
